Concert and Lecture - Frédéric Chopin & George Sand


The music and Story of an improbable liaison

Join us at the Music School of Westchester in Larchmont on Thursday, June 2, from 7pm to 8pm, for a concert and lecture about Frédéric Chopin and George Sand! Come and learn about two of the most famous artists living in Paris in the early 19th century.

The concert will feature iconic pieces such as Mazurkas, Waltzes, Préludes, Études, Marche Funèbre and Scherzo.

Dr Vladimir Babadzhan (Piano)

Dr. Vladimir Babadzhan is the Co-Founder of the Music School of Westchester, Piano DMA, Rimsky Korsakov Conservatory of Music, St. Petersburg (Russia). His thesis focused on the early music education of young children. He is currently a concert pianist and performs in Europe and in the US.

Bill Chen (Piano)

Bill Chen has been playing piano for close to 9 years. He has fallen in love with piano and practices whenever he has time. He learns music with Dr. Vladimir Babadzhan. On his journey with piano, he has passed Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) level 10 in 2021 with honors, and passed New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) level 6 in 2018. He has also placed 3rd in the JY Park piano competition and 2nd in the Rondo Young Artist competition. He has performed in concerts with the Music School of Westchester. He is a 9th grader in Rye High School. Besides piano, he does competitive rowing.

Champagne will be served after the concert.

All Welcome - $25 for members - $30 for non-members

Space is limited to 20 guests - Reservations required - Tickets must all be purchased in advance and cannot be purchased on the day of the event.

If you test positive for Covid before the concert and cannot join us on June 2, please contact our team, the value of your tickets will be credited to your personal AFW account so it can be redeemed at a later date. Credits can be applied towards future cultural events or classes, memberships, or to purchase gift vouchers for someone else.
