Our team is going to welcome a new French intern this Spring and Summer. Due to the pandemic, she unfortunately cannot join us in Westchester County and will be meeting our members remotely. As she would like to learn more about American culture, we hope you can join the various cultural workshops and events she will be organizing for our members. Here is a short text Camille wrote in order to introduce herself to all our members.
Enchantée,
I am Camille and I am a student in France in political sciences in Rennes, Brittany, in the North-West of France. I am French but my father is German which allowed me to grow up with two different languages at home. I currently live in Spain, where I was able to study at the University of Salamanca before starting my internship at the Alliance Française of Westchester this month. Even if I can’t get there because of the pandemic, I’d like to get to know the American culture, which is very different from what I experience in Europe.
Because my parents lived in francophone West Africa for many years, and because I lived in Ethiopia with my family for a while, I had the chance to grow up surrounded by very diverse persons and stories. Which fueled my taste for culture. Indeed, after my degree I would like to be able to work in a cultural institution, and more particularly in the world of cinema, which fascinates me since childhood.
Au plaisir de se voir et d’échanger (à distance),
Un salut espagnol,
Camille Winkler
