MAY
17, 2024 APERO SUR L'EAU - RENCONTRE AUTEURS FRANCOPHONES
What was life like in France before and after the French Revolution? What was the role of women in the French society at the time? Who was Fanny Reybaud, a bestselling author of the 19th century, then as famous as George Sand, but mostly forgotten today? What is the role of a translator, and how can they help us better understand the work of foreign authors? After a presentation of the novel by our guest speaker, a Q&A session will give you the opportunity to learn more about these various topics.
This is a free event for members of Alliance Française of Westchester and the discussion will be mostly in English, although questions in French are welcome too. Please RSVP in advance, so we can send you the Zoom link. If you need help with figuring out how to use Zoom, please contact us in advance. The even will be starting at 6pm, although the Zoom room will be opened earlier than this, so you can chat with our team and with other AFW members before the main presentation starts.
