Photo Contest: Frenchness - Beyond clichés!

We all know the clichés that exist about French people like the famous trio: baguette, marinière and béret.

This photo contest aims to provide new perspectives: what does being French mean to you? What is la vie à la Française? Portray your view of France while trying to leave the traditional clichés behind. Take a picture with your phone or your camera and capture your own depiction of French culture.

You will also have to give your picture a title which will consist of a short sentence, in order to explain or complete your point of view expressed by your photography. You can write it in French or in English, it’s up to you.

Apart from these few instructions, feel free to use your creativity!

The jury selecting the best photos is made up of AFW team members. There will be one winner for each category: Adult category and Children & Teens category. Prizes awarded to the best photos consist of a selection of books. Each winner will be able to select one book. If you cannot retrieve your book in person in White Plains or Larchmont, a shipping fee will be charged.

You have time until May 16 at noon (EST) to submit your photo. Winners will be announced during the week following the deadline.

To enter the contest, please RSVP on this page. Joining this photo contest is free and you do not need to be an AFW member in order to participate.

To submit your photo, please send it to camille@afwestchesterny.org. Don't forget to include the title of your picture and the category in which you find yourself: Adults or Children & Teens.

Please note that by submitting your photo, you agree to it being published on the Alliance website and on the Instagram and Facebook pages if your photo is selected among the winning photos.
