Summer 2022 - Online toddlers Classes
Description:
French lessons for toddlers
Have you always wanted to raise your child in a bilingual environment? In this case, learning French from a young age is the best way to
make sure your child will develop language skills similar to those of a child growing up in a Francophone country. Young children have a
better ability to mimic sounds they hear, so gaining exposure to another language before the age of 6 is best if you would like your child
to speak French with confidence and with a natural pronunciation. For children who are 6 and older, other programs will then be available
depending on their age and depending on the learning goals which are most important to you.
Our teaching philosophy
Our pedagogy is based on providing a fully immersive learning environment adapted to children and their developmental
needs, so at this stage lessons primarily involve songs, toys, games, stories, and repetition of key words and expressions which will help
your child discover the joy of speaking a new language. Teachers also focus on making sure children can learn and understand basic
instructions, and learn to build positive relationships with their peers. If your family is already bilingual, your child will be matched
with other children of a similar level and our teacher will focus more on an active acquisition of language, boosting your child's
confidence in speaking French and providing a safe learning environment to help him or her embrace a multi-cultural identity. An informal
interview will be arranged before the first day of class in order for our team to assess your child's level, as well as to gain a better
understanding of goals which are most important to you.
When are lessons taking place?
Lessons scheduled during our Summer term will start on June 29 and will finish on September 14.
Our regular classes last for 10 lessons each per term. Our offices are closed from August 1st to 14,
so no classes will be scheduled then.
Children will be grouped by ages as well as depending on their current level. Groups need a
minimum of 3 students for the schedule to be confirmed.
Groups currently available:
- Wednesdays - 2.45pm to 3.15pm - Beginner level from 2 to 3 years old
- Wednesdays - 2.45pm to 3.15pm - Beginner level from 4 to 5 years old

As non-native French speakers, my husband and I send our children to the AFW so they can immerse themselves in the French language and
culture. We also realize the importance of mastering a second language in today’s world. It’s amazing to see how their proficiency in the
language has grown and most importantly, their genuine love and interest in French.
My daughter Stella really enjoyed the online class she had over the last few weeks. Aurélie was a wonderful teacher and Stella had a great
time beginning to explore the French language. Thanks!
I believe the online platform works really well, and I am excited to see that online courses will be offered in the summer.
In terms of the spring online semester, my daughter Anna has been extremely engaged, the lessons have been impactful, and she has truly been
enjoying the interaction.
Thank you for all that you do with the class!
